Wildly excited. A trip to the library and a $1 in the discard section later, I scored a mint copy of Beatrice And Benedick by Marina Fiorato. Is there a romance in all of fiction that has ever gripped my heart more than the fiery push-and-pull of the titular characters in Much Ado About Nothing? I think not.
Much of my love for this story is owed to Emma Thompson’s flawless performance alongside her then-husband Kenneth Branagh, before he made the mistake of a life time and let the divine Emma slip through his fingers. (Seriously, what was he thinking?)
A brief thumbing through the pages promises a real treat. Rich, lavish prose. Can’t wait to read it when the summer garden gets going!
